The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

It is more than appropriate that in the midst of all this discussion about nascent human life, that we liturgically memorialize the birth of our Blessed Mother.

While contemplating Mary's life, especially in light of all this political hullabaloo, which, again, I enjoy, I came across this by Dorothy Day- “True obedience is a matter of love, which makes it voluntary, not compelled by fear or force”. Diaconal bow to Deacon Greg Kandra.
I post that quote because it shows what obedience truly is. May we, like our Blessed Mother, be humbly obedient to God's will, trusting always in the fact that God loves us.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
